Perfection, Mohawks, Royals, Boesch, & Everett.

Armando Galarraga got a perfect game, I don’t care what you say. I’m against Bud Selig’s decision to not change the call and give him a perfect game, but I’m sadly not the commissioner, so I have no say in this. I wish that all the petitions would get Selig to think and reverse the call, but I think it’s over now. What gets me is that it wouldn’t hurt anything or anybody to just give the kid a perfect game. Isn’t Selig’s decision supposed to be based on the best interest for the game? Then why wouldn’t he just make the change, it would be in the best interest, he wouldn’t have gotten any complaints if it would’ve been called a perfect game. Honestly, I was having almost the worst day when he started pitching. I didn’t ever see this coming either, he’s never even had a complete game and then he comes out of nowhere and gets a perfect game, well should have been a perfect game. He deserves it for that alone, just because I don’t see this happening again any time soon for Armando. I wish him the best luck in the world, I hope he pitches one next time he goes on the mound, JUST to show them all up. :) I’m so proud of the way the Tigers handled it, I know I wasn’t that calm. Actually, after the initial shock wore off, I just flipped Jim Joyce off. Then I screamed some not so friendly words to his image on the television. Do those words still stand, no. I think he did the right thing, he faced the situation head-on, and I look up to him for that. As for Armando Galarraga, I’m SO impressed on how he dealt with being robbed of his perfect game. I completely respect him for that, I just love how he kept smiling and forgave Joyce. The next day was nice to see after I came home from taking my final exams, the way we all handled this sad event was just amazing to see. Not to mention, but that Corvette was pretty spiffy. My favorite thing from the next day was hearing Gerald Laird quote Rick Porcello after he gave up the first hit of the day to the Indians. Rick said, “Dang, there’s goes my chance for a new Corvette.” Speaking of Rick, he joined in on the mohawk trend. Which is sad news for me, I loved his hair in the first place and him cutting it off to create a mohawk doesn’t make me a happy camper. I haven’t seen a clear picture of him since he joined in, but I think I’ll miss his old hair. I don’t want to get into a big freakout about Rick’s hair, but I think he has some of the best hair I’ve ever seen, which makes sense because he is Italian and Italian’s definitely have amazing hair. I’m looking forward to seeing if his new mohawk will give him some good luck. It’s funny because the day Rick came in with one Ryan Perry, his roommate, got rid of his.
Once again, the Royals seemed to show us up. I can’t understand why we just don’t win against them, they’re probably one of worst teams in baseball, yet we can’t beat them. They took two out of three from us, but two of our best hitters just crushed the ball. Miguel Cabrera hit a homer that went 417 feet, and Brennan Boesch hit one that went 413 feet. Brennan Boesch just continues to entertain me and impress me. I love that kid, I’m glad to hear he finally bought himself an apartment in Detroit & that he gets free pancakes. :D

New news, Adam Everett was just designated for assignment. Danny Worth will be taking over with Ramon Santiago at short. It’s a shame to hear that Everett is going to be gone, mostly because he is such a classy guy. He’s one of the nicest people in baseball in my opinion. I met him, and he was just so polite. After hearing about the news, he said, “I can’t foresee the future, but I’m sure it’s going to take a little while. I’m just going to see where things go from here. If somebody gives me a chance, then they do, but if not, then I guess I had a good career.” I think if no one gives him a job in baseball, then he should be in shampoo commercials.<3 I wish him the best of luck, and I know the Tigers do also.

Tigerfest. :D

Hi, this weekend was fun. I went to Detroit and saw some family, and then I got to go to Tigerfest. :D Kay, so obviously for me it was a blast. This was the first time I went, and I think I should tell you all what I learned from being there, give you some tips in case you plan on going, and tell you about my experience.
It was nothing like I thought it would be, but I still had fun. Meeting some of the Tigers for the first time would be fun for me no matter what. I didn’t think that there was going to be that many people there, I’m still surprised there was that many. I thought that part of the reason it was always sold out so fast was that there wasn’t many tickets in the beginning, I was wrong of course. The players rotate from booth to booth every hour, and well I wasn’t doing my best thinking, but I’ll tell you more about that in a minute.

IF YOU PLAN ON GOING, HERE’S SOME TIPS.
1.) If you think it’s cold out, then go downstairs.
2.) If you’re going JUST for autographs, then stay at one booth.
3.) The lines are long, so I suggest taking something or doing something that can keep you busy while waiting. For example; a friend who talks a lot, texting, cell phone in general, video game thing like a PSP or Nintendo DS, a bouncy ball ( some guy had one), one of those Tigers magazines, or after you get an autograph you could just stare at it?
4.) I’d bring something cool like a ball to be signed, cause it just wastes time to buy one there.
5.) Eat before you go, this also cuts back valuable autograph time.
6.) Don’t freak out if you’re in a line that doesn’t have someone like Brandon Inge at the end of it, if you follow tip two then you will probably eventually meet him if he’s there. Also, the minor leaguers are the friendilest I think.
7.) Don’t be afraid to talk to them or ask them something, they really can’t bite you… they don’t want to create a scene.
8.) They have someone sitting with them, all I saw was chicks sitting with them, but I think that’s something like an agent. So, don’t get mad if you asked them for more than one thing signed and they said, “Sorry, I can’t.” They probably really can’t cause of the person sitting next to them.
9.) When you meet or see someone you think is amazing, breathe. Please, just take a breath.
10.) Ladies, bring a bag to carry. It makes things so much easier.

I started off not knowing anything or what to do, so I decided to go down to see the visitors dugout. Then when I was down there, I saw this autograph booth, and it didn’t look overcrowded so we went in. Well, it wasn’t a small line, but definitely the shortest all day. I didn’t know who was up there, but I found out it was Brent Dlugach and Tom Brookens. I met Brent first and I believe I was his 200 autograph, he wasn’t the loudest guy. Honestly, he seemed shy to me, kinda like myself. I got Brookens autograph also and went on my way. When I was walking out, Adam Everett was walking in. When I looked up and saw him, wow. I could hardly breathe, I know I couldn’t speak cause I tried and words didn’t come out. I almost ran into him, oops. I got out of his way as soon as I could move my feet without being able to say anything and walked away in shame while saying, “I need to go back there, I need to go back.” After that encounter with Everett, who’s hair is even better in person, I went and saw the locker room. It was pretty cool, and there TV was huge. I searched around for a while after that to get a baseball, I ended up settling for a 2005 All-Star Game one. Oh well, the money went to the foundation. I went into a different booth after and when I went in Gerald Laird and some other guy was in there, but they had another switch and guess who came walking in.
Brent Dlugach.JPG Yeah, it was my new best friend Brent Dlugach. He was with Max Scherzer, and after waiting in line that long, I decided that I would just stay and this time have Brent sign my baseball and take a picture with me. Which he did, but he moved in the first picture and started talking to me so he wanted a another one taken, I was happy to take another picture with him of course. :) He seems like a sweet guy, and my weird uncle thinks we look cute together or something and he noted that “he isn’t married, he isn’t wearing a ring, hey.” Hahah, I found that priceless. I met Bobby Seay and Casey Fien after switching to another tent/booth. When I first went to the other booth after seeing Dlugach again, it was Tom Brookens in there with Eddie Bonine, but I knew it was going to rotate again. I was wondering if Brent was going to come back and see me again!, but he didn’t instead I got Bobby and Casey. I had to get someones hat autographed also, so I asked if Seay wouldn’t mind signing two things. He said it was fine while his agent person was like only one thing. Well, he ended up signing both and she just called him a cheater. Then I went to Casey and asked if I could have two things signed he said, “Definitely!” I was constantly hearing in line how sweet he was, but I found out it was true.  He started a conversation with me, I reminded him of rookie hazing and teletubbies and we had a little laugh. I’m so glad that these guys weren’t jerks, cause that would have ruined my whole time. I didn’t get to meet Rick Porcello, Brandon Inge, Ryan Perry, Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera, Magglio (he has really short hair now) Ordonez, or Clete Thomas, but I’m okay with that. I knew of every guy I met, and I liked all of them. I didn’t think I’d be meeting any of them, but I’m glad I did, it makes me like them more. Another thing is that Jim Leyland said something about wanting to give Clete a full time position, just sayinnn. :D I’m already wanting to go to the next Tigerfest. If you go onto tigers.com right now, then you can see a bunch of junk from the day.

So, Laird Decided to Join in on all the fun.

Well, I’d like to know what is going on with our Tigers lately. First we hear about Cabrera’s scandal, which I refused to blog about because he was having enough people talk about it. I don’t want to bring up past news, but the evidence is still there. NOW, NOW! We have another, yes ANOTHER Tiger who was taken into a police station. Gerald Laird, you saw what happened with Miguel, why did you have to go and try to have just another scandal for the Tigers season? And why couldn’t you have done this like last week so we didn’t have this news to start off 2010? Thanks, a lot. So, I guess this is the story.. him and his brother Brandon, he’s a NYY prospect you might have heard of him. Well, they went to a NBA game and in the lounge of a Suns-Celtics game assaulted security guards. Obviously, they were arrested. If this things weren’t so public it wouldn’t be a big deal. I mean, from Cabrera’s scandal the 911 call was released. I think maybe that’s going a tad bit far, but I will admit I listened to it and wow. I’m not sure if I’m against people listening to it or not, it is our right since he made the stupid mistake and all. So, it’s your decision, if you want to listen then click. He is still hurting from it, I’m not sure how badly he ruined his career. I know this much, he isn’t getting any votes for play of the year. Going back to Laird, I think this won’t be THAT big of a deal, but I just wish that it didn’t have to happen to the Tigers again.

Oh, & don’t forget to vote for play of 2009.(:

Vote For Play of the Year.

Hello there, I want to tell you that you should really go and vote for the Tigers 2009 Play of the Year. Yes, go and do that. You know that you want to, here, I’ll give you the linky-poo. VOTE HERE.(:

Thumbnail image for Clete's walkoff.Kay, so as of right this minute Clete Thomas’ walk-off homer is winning with about 40% of the vote. Ernie Harwell is in second place with about 30% of the vote, and Inge’s great catch where he ends up in the stands is third with 16%. Thomas, Inge, Verlander, and Cabrera are nominated twice. Ernie Harwell’s speech and Raburn’s walk-off are also nominated.  I’ve noticed that Miguel isn’t getting any votes, take that as you will. Personally, I’m voting for Clete’s walk-off because of all the excitement it brought. That night was amazing, and I actually had a feeling that the walk-off was going to happen before it did, but when I saw it, well. :D
Doesn’t that look like the face of a winner? This was him rounding the bases after getting the walk-off, but hey.. I think he wants your votes. :)

Oh, the Mets signed Bay. I’m not sure why, but this is like the biggest story in the baseball world, well it seems like it to me anyways. Oh, oh.. also the Tigers traded Dusty Ryan, this isn’t the biggest news, but at least I don’t have to go through anymore Dustin Ryan jokes.

Winter Meetings, Trades, and Tigersfest ’10!

I don’t know what way you want to look at things, but for me I’m going to just act like that game with the Twins never happened, we went to the playoff’s against the Yankees, and they beat us and ended up winning the World Series, so yeah at least we lost against the best team.  Do not spoil my mood by telling me what really happened, we all know what really happened, and we don’t want to relive this again.
So, you have all probably heard the news that Placido Polanco, Curtis Granderson, and Edwin Jackson are now officially with other teams. And, maybe you also heard that Adam Everett signed another year deal. Well, this is what I have to say.

Placido Polanco: I’m not sure what to say, I want to say this was stupid and that we should have done everything in our power to keep him around, but i can’t. I knew as soon as the season was over that it was probably the end of Polanco’s days of being a Tiger. Of course this saddened me, he was after all one of my favorites. He was my dad’s favorite, my dad always steals my favorite guys, and he stole Polanco from me in 2007. My dad claims he won’t be watching any games soon because they should have kept Polanco, and he thinks that the Tigers are getting rid of everyone. I’m going to miss him the most probably, he was the definition of playing your hardest. He was down right amazing, and he was our spunky little second baseman who won the Gold Glove again, and was MVP once. I almost met Polanco twice, and now, unless I travel to Philly, I wont get that chance. Dang, I’m gonna miss that boy.

Curtis Granderson: Well, thank you Curtis. I think that its needed to say thank you to him, he made this town and state so much better. I hope he really does continue with his charities, and make them national. I wish him all the luck in the world, I know he will do amazing wherever he is. I’m proud to say that I’m a fan of his, I wish I could have met him, I almost did.

Edwin Jackson: I think it is unfair that we only had him for one year. He always gets traded after a pretty good year, like with Tampa Bay. They traded him to us, he did good with them, but still, now we are doing the same thing to him that they did. Oh well, the deal is done. I wanted to see him pitch, but too bad for me now, I guess. I’m going to miss him too, I wonder who is going to be taking his place.

Adam Everett: I’m really glad that they kept him, we needed to have some experience in the middle infield. I think he could do better with his bat, he showed that he does have some power and that he is reliable. Also, I love going to games where he is playing cause I love his taste in music. He seems like such a sweet guy, and I’m glad I’m going to meet him soon.

I’m pretty sure that Fernando Rodney is gone, I don’t know exactly what happened with the whole Brandon Lyon thing. Zumaya looks like he is going to be the closer, if he can stay healthy and if we don’t acquire someone else, than I think if Zoom Zoom gets hurt again, Ryan Perry would have to step up and take the job. That would be quite interesting if that had to happen. I’m not sure who is going to be in the starting rotation, and who is going to be starting in the outfield everyday, or who the DH will be. I’m worried about the Sizemore, cause I’ve never seen him in a major league setting. I think getting Phil Coke was a good move, but i wish we wouldn’t of had to get rid of Curtis and Edwin for him. I guess we will all have to wait until we see what is happening in Jim Leyland’s mind and Dombrowski’s.

Tigersfest is coming up, and I could not be more excited. I skipped school today just to order the tickets. Last year, I tried ordering them, but I couldn’t because they were sold out. So, if you want to go this year, I suggest that you order them soon. It’s on January 23rd 11am.-5pm. I’ll make sure to tell you how my experience went. :)

Don’t Look Now, but the Tigers Might win the Division Today.

Okay, I’m reallly writing this at 2:45 in the morning because I am SO excited for tomorrow’s game. Oops, I meant to say today’s. Just to put this out there for people who have been living under a rock for the past three days.. the Tigers, the Detroit Tigers are about to win their first division title in 25 years! Yes, exciting stuff, I know. :D

I have been sick for about a week now, staying home from school and junk and well, my schedule is all out of wack. That is also probably part of the reason I’m not sleeping like normal people. Athough, one good thing came out of me being sick, I get to stay home and see the game tomorrow. Originally, I was going to beg to be picked up early so I could see the game.

Game 1: Postponed, then re-scheduled into a day/night double header for the next day. Porcello was pitching and he did amazing once again. Leyland let him go over 100 pitches again, but then took away the rookies next start. So, guess what, all of his record breaking is donzo, but we can look forward to the playoffs. Alfredo Figaro is taking his place starting on Saturday. Thomas got to play in this game, and I dont know why I am mentioning this, except for the reason that I’m crazily obsessed with him. Anyway, we probably could or should have won this game, but we didnt. :(

Game 2: Verlander pitching. All hail King Verlander, just dont get in his way or he will eat you. No, he is an amazing pitcher and is very lucky. We ended up winning this game, because we had a lot of offense, still it ended up being a close game.

Game 3: This was really the important one, but on paper the Tigers looked like they would be dead meat. Pavano v.s. Bonine. I mean, it still looks like we should have been roadkill. BUT, a miracle happened. The Tigers scored off of Pavano! Oh, and it wasnt just one or two meesley little runs.. NO, we scored many. We knocked him out of a game, the Tigers knocked Pavano out of a game. I know, amazing, right?! Also, Eddie Bonine was spectacular again. We won, as you can see by how happy I am. Jim switched it up a little bit, he played both Magglio and Clete. Smart move too. I think that the lineup for this game should be the regular one for next year. Except, I dont know about the whole shortstop or catcher situation.

So, the series is in our favor right now.  Robertson V. Baker. I think we could possibly win this one. AND, if we do then we are in the playoff’s. Be scared Yankees, of the Mighty, Mighty Tigers!

Tune in for the game at 1:05…

It might be ending with some champagne. :)

p.s. The Cleveland Indians fired Eric Wedge, what a shock.

Race for the Pennant is on!

The Tigers, my Detroit Tigers are in the pennant race. :) I’m happpy to say the least, it is the beginning of September and this is where things get interesting. Rosters expand, only around thirty games left, and for the teams that are leading in their division, it is time for them to gain some ground on their competitors, whoever they may be. For the Tigers, it is the Twins and White Sox. I learned a long time ago, don’t count anyone out of the race, until it is offical.

Bad thing about this time of year, is that school starts back up. Oh joy! Not even close, but if I ever want to be a journalist or sports reporter for the Tigers, I guess I have to graduate. I’m a freshman this year, so you can probably guess why I don’t want to go to school. Hah, not so much fun. Ever since I became obsessed with baseball, I haven’t liked school as much as I once did. I can’t watch the day games unless they start after four, which never happens unless it’s Saturday and the game is being shown on FOX. I will find a way to see my games though, I always manage to. I’m sneeky when it comes to baseball. (:

Good news, the Tigers just swept the Indians at home, and they are five games above the Twins and seven above the White Sox. Also, alert the media, Aubrey Huff had a great night as a Tiger! Iffy news, the Tigers are playing the Rays at Tropicana Field tonight, then they are going to Kansas City. This could reallly go either way, but I’m hoping we suprise everyone and win some more on the road, like the last time against the Angels.

Justin Verlander is pitching tonight, Armando Galarraga is taking Washburn’s start on Saturday because Jarrod’s knees are hurting him. Then Edwin Jackson on Sunday.

More good news, Robertson did amazing on the mound yesterday. Nate should have had the win, but was only giving a no decision. He is looking up since coming back, I think that he deffintely won himself another start atleast, which is where he feels the best. Good for Nate, I missed him tons, he was my first favorite pitcher. :)

I forgot about September call-ups. These were the lucky guys who got called up: Jeremy Bonderman, Eddie Bonine, Wilken Ramirez, Brent Dlugach, Casey Fien, Dusty Ryan, and Armando Galarraga.

One more thing that I missed, Rick Porcello threw a gem the other night, and he got his twelfth win. ♥

Go Tigers. :D

104, Doubles, Rays, 11th, Tigers, and Rick Porcello.

I was lucky enough to see the first game of a four game match against the Tampa Bay Rays at Comerica Park.

On Friday, Rick Porcello went to the mound thinking, “I want my eleventh win.” Welll, that is what I imagined he thought. And, he did in fact get that eleventh win. :) He came out with his game face on, and I knew as soon as I saw him, he was ready to take on these Rays.

Tigers v.s. Rays 022.JPGBrandon Inge had a solo homerun in the second inning against Matt Garza of the Rays. The Tigers offense didn’t stop there though. In the fourth inning we had a bunch of doubles when the bases were loaded. Hittting in the double mania included: Adam Everett, Gerald Laird, and Curtis Granderson.
Thumbnail image for Tigers v.s. Rays 028.JPGIt was quite impressive, also Laird has his first multi-hit game since early August. Rick Porcello was the big story in this game, however. He allowed only one run on four hits.

Also, I was there to witness his first 100+ pitch game. :D I took a picture once he hit 101 on the pitch count. (Which is shown above.) I was too busy cheering, and giving him a standing ovation to take a picture of the final pitch count of 104. Rick lasted until the middle of the 6th inning, only needing one more out, but Leyland decided it was time and took him out and put in Ni. Fu-Te Ni recorded the final out of the inning, and then in the next inning the Tigers put in Lyon. Before I left for the game it was pouring down rain, but I was shocked how many fans still showed up. In the eighth inning the rain started falling again, but it wasn’t too bad. Then in the ninth Seay gave up a homerun, and then walked one or two guys, and the rain started coming down worse and worse. With only one out to go, Seay was falling apart. So, enter Rodney. I never thought I would ever be so happy to see Fernando Rodney come into the game. Of course, he worried all of the fans for a little bit before getting the final out to make the Tigers win the ball game. At this point I was soaked, but the Tigers won and that was all that really mattered. :)
Thumbnail image for Tigers v.s. Rays 024.JPG I was so impressed with what ”the kid” did that night, I rushed over to the Tigers shop after the game was over and bought me a Porcello shirt. Speaking of that, calling him ”the kid” bothers me, this so called “kid” happens to have a better record then a lot of the veterans. Rick is making a name for himself, soon no one will know of him as being the kid. I’m hoping that he wins rookie of the year, from seeing him Friday, he deserves it. Oh, did I mention that Mr. Sweet Clete Thomas came into the game in the seventh or eighth inning as a defensive replacement for Magglio. Ryan Raburn also came in for Guillen.
Tigers v.s. Rays 019.JPGThe last inning all I did was take pictures of Clete, cause the last time I was at a Tigers game my friendly, little, orange camera was dropped by someone at school and wasn’t quite ready to go out into that big of a crowd. So, I took it to camera counseling and finally it was ready to go this time around. I’m trying to be funny, that doesn’t really work for me. Sadly, this time I never heard my favorite song, Song of the South. And I never saw Clete walk into the batters box while the song was playing either. Next time, next time I will hear and see that. Atleast I saw him run out to right field, and get rained on pretty hard. Still, the game was amazing, and most importantly the Tigers won. I loved the seats too, eighth row, third base side.. not too shabby. I saw the starting players come out and warm up, and at first the only one who went and signed autographs was Carlos Guillen. I thought that was reallly cool of him, but after Curtis was done warming up he came out and also gave a few autographs. Comerica Park must be the most beautiful ball park in all of baseball, in my eyes it is. But, I mean to look that pretty even when it was raining, that is amazing.<3

Go Tigers! (:

P.S. Please forgive me for the poor photo quality, it was raining in my defense.

Ejection-Mania.

We all knew that tonights game would be exciting to say the least, but who knew that it would be THAT exciting.

For me, as a Tigers fan, of course it was also unfair. This all started last night, there were a few balls that were thrown inside, a few batters were hit. Obvisously, the Red Sox brought back their unsettled anger about the few close pitches. Youklis, in my opinion, has always been a hot head. He isn’t scared to get into a fight, but what he did tonight, against a 20 year-old rookie pitcher, was just simply uncalled for. It was Porcello’s first game at Fenway, and he was pitching amazingly well, all of August he has been coming out and pitching the stuff that made it where we could go out and get the victory.

I don’t believe that that hitting Kevin Youklis was intentional, honestly the way that Porcello was shaking his head before he caught a glimpse of Youklis charging at a him I knew that Porcello didn’t mean to hit him. Rick didn’t want a fight, you can clearly see that. Youklis, on the other hand, loves the excitement of a fight. He is always the one to start it, or finsh it, or both. I think what Kevin Youklis did was low, was disrespectful, and was extremely uncalled for. It just shows me that I was always right when I called Youklis an over-rated a-hole. Excuse my language.

I don’t think that Porcello should have been ejected, he even ran away from Youklis. The kid didn’t mean to hit him, he wouldn’t have done anything that would get him ejected him, he wanted to have his first game at Fenway be a good one, instead he got the good game that he was already pitching taken away from him because of a temper filled, hot headed Kevin Youklis.

Miguel Cabrera was hit too, he had every right to get just as mad as Youklis did, but instead he had class. I wish that I could say everything that I would like to about Youklis, but I like keeping things classsy.

I was quite upset about Porcello being ejected, I still think that it was the most unfair call/ejection I have ever seen. The Tigers had two players that couldnt play after the second inning, Boston only had one that couldn’t play. Bottom line, my personal opinon is that Detroit was robbed tonight. I think that the reason for us losing was because of Youklis getting Rick Porcello ejected.

To make things even crazier in this game, there was a 7th inning rain delay.

The final score ended up being 5-7 Boston. Granderson got a two run homer in the top of the ninth to make it 5-7, instead of 3-7.

We better win tomorrow, honestly if I was Jim Leyland I would have Porcello be the starter, if that is possible. Armando is sick, so why not?

Go Tigers.

Close Call.

As I said in my last post, I hope that me wearing my Thomas shirt doesn’t jinx me. I fell asleep before the game began last night, and the game was already ten minutes in. So, when I woke up I put the game on, and then checked my cell. (I have text alerts about Clete Thomas.) When I checked my phone though I got a text saying that Clete wasn’t starting. Then as soon as I recieved that I looked up and saw Wilken Ramirez batting lead-off. I thought that the jinx happened. I almost started hyperventelating, but I figured that someone would have called and broke the bad news to me. It didn’t look good, I mean..I was scared that they sent my favorite player down again after getting the walk-off. I was freaking out, and then right before I was about to call someone to see if he did get sent down, I looked and there he was, sitting on the bench next to Granderson. I love seeing Clete up in the majors, I’m happy whenever I see him, but I never imagined that I would be so greatful to see his face in that dugout.

Washburn, I was impressed by his stufff. I know that he won’t disapoint us, but last night was just a tough game. We looked pretty much dead after the one run, and then the ninth inning was a nice little run to not make us look SO bad.

Leyland finally took my advice, I have always said that when Curtis needs that day off give it to him and put Clete in center. I think that even if you don’t like Thomas you have to agree that he probably is the best one in the outfield, he has the best arm even after surgery. When a left handed pitcher is against us then put Clete in center and let Granderson have the day off, the guy needs one every once and a while.

Chris Lambert and Alex Avila were called up, while Dusty Ryan and Wilken Ramirez were optioned down to Toledo. I was sad to see Dusty get sent down, he should have had more chances.

I’m excited to see Jackson and Porcello pitch in the next two games. :)

Oh, I just wanted to mention that Brandon Inge is like the sweetest ever. When I see him and little Tommy it is just the cutest thing in the world. It brings tears to my eyes.
